Synopsis The history of the early mediaeval art and architecture in northern India focusses on the Kalacuris of Dahala-Mandala, during the period from 9th century A.D to the 13th century A.D. With a view to evaluate the temples, the author has put them into three phases of development, dated approximately on the basis of their stylistic features.
