Synopsis At the outset I must congratulate Dr. Chauhan for identifying the theme of majority-minority conflict in a South-East Asian country. It is the field in which the level of Indian scholarship is not very high. The author deserves praise for competently comprehending and brilliantly analysing its social and political reality. The approach author develops in perceiving the areas of conflicts is quite useful in having a comparative perspective in solving the ethnic problem in the developing countries.
