Synopsis The present book "Studies on Some Fungal Biodeteriogens' is the first of its kind giving a complete account of life processes nutritional behaviour and biodeterioration potentials of four common fungi causing damage to valuable museum objects. The chapters on 'Biodeteriogens' and 'Indoor Aeromycoflora' may be interesting to a person unacquainted with the subject. Characters of common fungal biodeteriogens have been discussed besides the four organisms described in detail. Experimental results of biodeterioration of different woods and papers has been discussed. A beginner can start in this area with the help of chapter 'Investigation Techniques.' An increased awareness about the fungal biodeteriogens will surely help to conserve the cultural heritage. Various control measures including use of chemicals, fungicides and botanical pesticides have been suggested. Authors are hopful that more such studies will be undertaken by research workers in the field.
