Synopsis This book deals with the most important issues of changing status and emerging problems of women in Indian society. The status of Indian women has undergone change with more and more women, particularly in urban India, becoming economically independent. This has made them more mobile in various occupations. But the question of gender equality is still the main concern in India as majority of the rural Indian women remain uneducated or less educated and also economically dependent on their male family members.
