Synopsis The book deals with Buddhism in view of what ails the modern world today.  The threat of global nuclear destruction is a real possibility.  What a mass the human race has landed itself in! The progress of science and technology has brought many comforts and luxuries to mankind, but at the same time, it has also endangered the human species because of nuclear war weapons, if used, there will be no escape from the destruction far and wide.  The Buddha showed mankind the way to a new world of peace, goodwill and prosperity thousands of years ago.  As long as peoples or nations are dominated by ignorance, selfishness, injustice, vengeance and exploitation, there will be no peace and harmony among them.  The basic problem we face today is moral degeneration and misplaced intelligence causing many ills and ailments.  Hence the need of the glorious light that flashed and radiated with the enlightenment of the Buddha, is still of great significance to human existence to bring the modern world into a habitat of happiness and bliss.
