Synopsis The book attempts to highlight certain pertinent aspects of family life, the marriage scene, the place of parents and grandparents, and the ways of teenagers.  Yet the main emphasis is on the fast expanding role of women in the workplace, sports, politics and the society itself.  A good many examples are given of what is happening in the western world, particularly in USA.  The same is bound influence attitudes and approaches in our country, especially among those sections that are most exposed to the spread of globalization. The key to women’s position is the rise of feminism; possibly the most important social movement in human history.  And this surge of feminism in the last 50 years has brought a new dimension to the man-woman equation.  The book endeavours to give the reader a glimpse of it.  The social, martial and workplace scenario is undergoing rapid changes.  What’s true today may be outdated tomorrow.  One can only spot out the trends.  A few of these are taken up in a lighter vein as no clear-cut answers exist.  The book is not meant to be read like a novel, continuously.  Readers can pick and choose whatever interests them.
