Commercial potential of biotechnology is immense since the scope of its activities covers the entire spectrum of human life and since it draws on the capabilities and ersourcefulness of the entire biological world and even beyond (for examples, modification of existing genes like, crystal protein gene of Bacillus thuringiensis to enhance the level of its expression and to combat the problem of gene silencing in transgenic plants).  Biotechnology is visualized, with lot of apparent justification, by many scientists an the technology of the twenty-first century.
