Synopsis The small-scale industrial sector has emerged as a vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy since independence. With the twin objectives of employment generation and capital expansion, the small scale sector was highly emphasized consistently in all the successive industrial policy resolutions. Considering the immense potentialities of the small scale sector in the overall backdrop of Indian economy a natural level seminar was organised with the support of UGC. Thought provoking and highly illuminating papers were presented embracing a wide spectrum of issues revolving round the small-scale sector in the country. Those are clubbed together to put forth the viewpoints for reference to thinkers, policymakers, planners, and academicians.
