Synopsis This book deals with women's movements, politics and awareness. The changed social milieu has brought women in politics The 73 Constitutional Amendment which guarantees one-third representation of women in Panchayati Raj institutions and civic bodies has initiated a process of empowerment of women in general and in the countryside in particular. But still they have to do much to assert themselves in power positions.
