Synopsis Learning takes place from early years of life of child. But formal and systematic learning organised by an elderly trained person designated as a teacher through an institution recognized as a school. Since independence, universalization of elementary education has been a national goal. Besides the access, enrolment and retention of children in schools, the quality of education at primary level lies with the school effectiveness, which is linked to more than a single factors. Few such factors having strong association with the state of affairs may be effective organisation of learning and participation of community in school education. Through this book the author has made an attempt to link school effectiveness with organisation of learning and participation of community in school activities.
