Synopsis Energy is considered as one of the fundamental needs of human being. Its necessity arises from the role it plays in human development and economic growth. As India is generally enclosed with renewable energy sources it has to move towards greater use of renewable energy. Increasing use of these sources will be instrumental in simultaneously achieving environmental objective. Renewable energy projects in the form of solar, wind and hydropower generated electricity are the key to provide energy in rural areas where power is in short supply. Although energy and environmental concerns were originally local in character but have now become major political issues and the subjects of international debate and regulation.
