Synopsis The book of Zingiberaceae of Sikkim is first complete account of this economically important family which is widely represented in tropical and subtropical regions of the state. It deals with 58 taxa of Zingiberaceae falling under 14 genera covering details of current nomenclature, descriptions, flowering and fruiting time, distribution and suitable notes on economic or nomenclatural aspects besides key for identification of species and genera. The book has 10 photographs and 21 illustrations having representatives of majority of the genera dealt in the text. The book will prove useful to plant taxonomists, foresters, economic botanists and naturalists and to those interested in the study of Sikkim flora.
