Synopsis This book analyses the plight of girl child in its pursuit for education throughout ages and the efforts of the government as well as of the NGO's alongwith the constitutional safeguards and the progress made by various states in this regard. The education scenario during Vedic period, Mohammedan period, early British period and the post independence has been discussed in detail. Various schemes, initiative, international treaties and NGO's leads in the field of the spreading of education particularly with reference to girl child has also been analysed in this study.
