Synopsis In this volume, the editors have included papers presented by various scholars in the National Seminar on "Issues of Tribal Development in India" organised by the Department of Economics and Rural Development and Andhra Pradesh Economic Association on 5 December 2004 at AU Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Post Graduate Centre, Etcherla, Srikakulam. The papers contained in this volume clearly established the fact that the tribal development programmes are formulated and implemented in a compartmental manner. Comprehensive and holistic participatory approach is suggested in the formulation and implementation of tribal development programmes. The quality and contents of the volume are good. The volume, overall, is a welcome addition to the literature on tribal development. It will be useful to all those including social workers, extension workers, development activists, students, researcher scholars, teachers, policy makers, planners, administrators and the general public involved in empowerment of tribes.
