Synopsis In the post reform economy the Regional Rural Banks are facing many challenges. Hence there is every necessity to find out the effectiveness of Regional Rural Banks for developing the agricultural sector at all levels e.g., regional, state and national. The present work is the outcome of the research work of many searchers, senior faculty members and bank personnel from various places of Orissa. The researchers have studied on various problems and prospects of different Regional Rural Banks in financing the farmers of the agricultural sectors, collecting data both from primary and secondary sources. It is certain that the valuable contributions, views and suggestions of researchers will be of immense help to the future researchers, policy makers, administrators, bankers, social thinkers and innumerable farmers in solving their problems and introduce policy measures for the economic development of the country in general and agricultural development in particular benefiting the poor cultivators in rural set up.
