Synopsis This work drawn an attention of the universe to the basic requirement of the human life i.e. Science of ethics consisting in he practice of truthfulness and righteousness. 'Ethics for Modern Man in Sanskrit Literature' embodies a collection of twenty-three research papers presented in the national Seminars conducted by Samskrita Shodha Samsthana (SAMSHODHANA) at Sirsi during March 2005. These papers covers a vast range of Sanskrit literature from vedic period to 16th century A.D. These papers put forth a comprehsive exposition of ancient ethical values as reinforced in the Vedas, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavadgita, Vatsyayana's Kamasutra, Mimamsa darsana, Sankhya-yoga philosophy, Vedanta works of Sankara, Ramanuja, Madhva, saivagamas, literary works of Bhasa, Kalidasa, Bhavabhuti, Magha, among others. By and large, the present work epitomizes ideal values of Indian ethics, emerges an awareness in the hearts of modern people, and fetches the need of the day for the betterment of the society at large.
