Synopsis In keeping with the diverse trends and thematic orientations, this volume has been designed to give space to the faculty and scholars working on new areas and themes where there is an abundance of source material that is only now beginning to be tapped. Migration, popular culture, ethno-medicine, historical geography, craft production, miniature paintings are some of the themes that are part of the contents of this work. Though the volume at a first glance would seem to be disparate in terms of the articles nevertheless the challenge of accommodating a wide range of approaches and methods from a broad spectrum of regions and temporal scale provides a thematic unity by integrating the large range of subjects. The primary aim of this volume is to give space to the merging trends in history writing that concern diverse themes and approaches seeking innovating ways of explaining sources, specially at a time when the young scholars in various universities and colleges are getting demotivated towards the discipline of History.
