Synopsis The present book 'History and Historiography: Trends and Practices' presents various dimensions of Indian History, including world history. History is the study of events in time, in relation to humanity. It is divided into and encompasses many sub and ancillary fields, such as chronology, historiography, genealogy, paleography and cliometrics. Those who study it as a profession are called historians. Although the broad discipline of history has often been classified under either the humanities or the social sciences, it can be seen as a bridge between them, incorporating methodologies from both fields of study. Traditionally, historians have attempted to answer historical research is not limited merely to these sources.
