Synopsis The volume focuses on the growing concern of academia for Urban Environmental Management. The volume throws light on issues associated with urbanization in rapidly growing economy, highlighting potential synergies and conflicts between competing and conflicting goals. The urban environment in the volume highlights the physical environment in urban areas with its complex mix of natural elements and built environment, i.e. physical environment constructed and modified for human habitation as well as for their economic activity. The volume consists of 17 articles from eminent researcher working on urban environment. The research articles are empirical studies conducted in different urban centres projecting factual status of urban environment and its management.
