Synopsis Indian Literature in English: Critical Views is a modest attempt to evaluate some prominent literary figures in Indian Writing in English.  It is an anthology of critical essays contributed by more than twenty scholars of English literature.  Most of the papers of this book have been prepared for presentation of various national and International Seminars and Conferences.  The writers included and discussed in this anthology are: Sri Aurobindo, Rabindranath Tagore, M.R. Anand, R.K. Narayan, Raja Rao, R.P. Jhabvala, Kamala Markandaya, Anita Desai, Kamala Das, Vikram Seth, Shobha De, Nissim Ezekiel, Keki N. Daruwalla, Adil Jussawalla, Gieve Patel, Mahesh Dattani and Niranjan Mohanty.  The book also contains three other scholarly papers dealing with the theme of mysticism in modern Indian poetry, Dalit literature and Gandhian impact on Indian Fiction in English.
