Synopsis Our kind teacher, Buddha Shakya-Muni, the historical Buddha, gave his first discourse at Sarnath more than two thousand five Hundred years ago. His advice about ethical behaviour, calming the mind and developing a correct view of reality can still contribute to inner peace, whether we consider ourselves Buddhists or not. Therefore, it given me great pleasure to know that DR. Niharika has taken the trouble to prepare this book Sarnath: The land of the Enlightened One, that not only describes the history and significance of the place, but also provides practical advice for visitors today.
