Synopsis The present book explores the socio-literacy scenario of West Indies and focuses on the urgency of going beyond contemporary literary schools of criticism to elucidate and decipher the genuine understanding of Wilson Harris's oeuvre. It argues that the imaginative exploration of Wilson Harris subscribers to the Post-colonial proposition of exploring the past with a critical insight. The Author examines the relevance of myth and the historical consciousness from the sociological perspective. Illustrating the metafictional elements in the popular novels of Harris, the Author unravels the dialectics of West Indian Narratology in the light of Caribbean 'Creolisation', 'catalysis' and 'Syncretic Vision'. The book initiates a new lease of thinking on the contribution of Wilson Harris and dismantles the epistemological rupture that prevailed in understanding the novelist.
