Synopsis Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the great nationalist leader and the first Prime Minister of India, is famous for his contribution to historical, political and socio-economic thought. The multifaceted dimensions of his thought include various other fields of national life. The contributors of this volume – L.L. Mehrotra (New Delhi) Professor B.G. Gokhale (America), L.S. Rathore, S.R. Goyal, A.C. Angrish, S.R. Bhansali (all Jodhpur) and numerous others are all specialists in different fields and disciplines. They have made a critical evaluation of the variegated description of the spectrum of Nehru’s thought. Though now quite a large literature on Nehru has developed, yet we hope that this work, mostly from the pen of competent university academicians, will be a welcome addition to Nehruvian literature and throw new light on the prism-like quality of his thought.
