Synopsis The four hundredth year of the installation of the immemorial and immutable Sri Guru Granth Sahib has inspired the whole world with a new forvour and courage. Certainly, it is beyond the capacity of any human being to be able to write about the glory of God. Actually, Gurbani is based on the world of experience, and can only be realized. The teaching and learning of Gurbani relates to the world of spiritual effort on one hand and the mystical experience on the other. The study of Gurbani originates from kind of mental and emotional stirrings. The very fact that the tenth Guru set up a centre taxal for the study of the meaning of Gurbani at Talwandi Sabo, Damdama Sahib, makes it obvious that there has to be a way to understand the meaning of Gurbani. Consciously or sub-consciously, it is because of the pursuit of this ideal that the schools and universities have made Gurbani a part of their syllabi.
