Synopsis The utility of English as one of the world's richest and most widely-used languages is recognized by all educated persons. Gala Publishers have tried to provide this need by a series of planned dictionaries. Feeling the need of Gujarati-knowing people, all over the world, to know not only Gujarati equivalents of English but also vice versa, we have ventured to bring out Gala's Popular Combined Dictionary. Herein are about 15,000 English words with their various Gujarati meanings together with about 10,000 Gujarati words with their English counterparts. English words selected for the dictionary are those that are generally met in different kinds of books an educated person is interested in. The Gujarati words offer a rich and lively selection of ordinary Gujarati words, their synonyms and idioms, which help readers to recognize English equivalents of the language they are using everyday. Due care has been bestowed on the spellings of Gujarati words used in the whole dictionary so that the dictionary will be useful as reference for Gujarati spellings, too.
