Synopsis This book is an indepth study of the natives in the post colonized world as depicted in the four major novels These are Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, A Passage to India by E.M. Forster, Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe and Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie. They represent the theme of post-colonial self assertion. All the novels focus on the exploitation of the resources of the natives by imperial powers. The study also seeks to analyse and trace the real condition of the wounded civilization.
