Synopsis Newly created state of Uttaranchal is a storehouse of important medicinal plants.  It is endowed with the vast biodiversity.  The use of wild plants for the health management is not new for the people of Uttaranchal but they have been using them from the time immemorial.  The present volume deals with the medicinal herbs, grasses and ferns found in wild, in Uttaranchal.  The species are classified according to the scientific system of classification.  The book is divided into three parts: Dicotyledons, Monocotyledons and Cryptogams.  The purpose of this books is to make identification easy, for which the book contains numerous coloured, photographs apart from scientific name, English name, local names, botanical description etc.
