Synopsis These articles are in a sense an appeal to the conscience of the nation to act before it is too late. One of the authors goals has always been to nurture a scientific temper of the society. He has written almost on all aspects of groundwater use and conservation, groundwater recharge, rain water harvesting, its equity and sustainability both in quantity and quality, as also on the hydrogeological research in the country. The articles are written in a manner easily understandable by one and all, technical and nontechnical alike, and may truly be held as a guide to water management philosophy.
