In 2002, two Conferences of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Biodiversity (COPCBO) adopted the target to achieve a significant reduction on the current rates of biodiversity loss at the global, regional and national level as a centrifugation to poverty alleviation and to the fit of all life on earth by 2010.
