Synopsis The book ‘Air Pollution and Health’ focuses on the study of the sources of air pollutants and discusses the impact of air pollution on human health. The complete volume seeks to describe the sources of air pollution and its actual or likely impacts on health, and how human societies and their governments should respond, with particular focus on the health sector. As air pollution is a global issue affecting the earth, which is clearly evident from the U N Human Development Report, 2007, the book tries to highlight the impact of air pollution on human health, and suggests ways to meet the challenges raised by air pollution with suitable initiatives. The book will be structured into the following two sections: Section I "Research Insights" comprising six articles will speak of the sources of air pollution and the emergence of different types of diseases due to air pollution and the ways to reduce the green house gases present in the atmosphere. Section II "Combat Initiatives" analyzes how to overcome the different health hazards resulting from various sources of air pollution and the current status of air quality in specific geographical locations around the world through seven articles.
