Synopsis There have been instances wherein women have attained professional success at the cost of neglecting their home front and vice versa. This has become a matter of utmost concern for most of these women as they find it difficult to strike a perfect balance between home and work front. They often feel overburdened by the responsibilities at home and at work. However, it is rare that women s role as a balancer is ever appreciated. Her multitasking capabilities are often seen as normal affair. Gender role expectations about what women should and should not do are still prevalent in society. In this context, the proposed book, "Women: Balancing Home and Career", presents different perspectives, personal and real life experiences and challenges faced by some of the middle class working women professionals in playing the role of a balancer i.e., balancing home and professional front. How can women find balance that leads them to excel and feel satisfied in the areas of their lives? This book would provide an insight into how today’s women cope with some of the issues of both worlds bravely and courageously in an effort to strike a balance and achieve success.The book is designed in two sections. The first section delves into perspectives and experiences. The second section consists of a case where the author has used her personal experiences to discuss the issue of domesticity.
