Synopsis Malnutrition is a grave problem worldwide, particularly the resource-poor countries. The book aims at description and evaluation of the existing malnutrition status of people worldwide. It is mainly intended for academicians, researchers in the modern province of physical anthropology, health administrators, economists and development professionals. The book begins with a general idea of malnutrition, following which it deals with the determinants, current global nutritional status and finally with the combat strategies against malnutrition adopted by different governments, communities or other ancillary agencies. Besides, nutrition paradox, formed by underweight and obesity, is also explained wherever deemed appropriate. A major part of the book concentrates on nutrition interventions. While reduction in malnutrition rates will require actions cutting across many sectors, a favorable health sector, to some extent, will foster the development of nutrition-relevant actions needed to address the persistently high rates of malnutrition among children.
