Synopsis In a span of about 125 years, much has been written about the difference between tribal faith and Hinduism, similarly the idea of ‘Hinduization’ of tribals has also gained some recognition in recent years. In both cases historicity of tribal culture in India has been grossly neglected and overlooked. Tribal Roots of Hinduism explains that the modern Hinduism is largely the product of tribal faiths which were retained and modified by the Indian sages in a period of more than three millenniums.
