Synopsis Early Man of the Indian Rock-shelters is an attempt to search for the antiquity of Indian rockshelter paintings. This attempt is based on the global scientific researches which reveal the essential unity of Pre-historic Stone Age Culture throughout the old World. The book discusses the pre-historic human migrations and their relationship with the rock art. Based on the palaeontological facts, the present study establishes the period of some of the Indian rockshelter paintings few millennium older than what they are generally being thought to be.
