Synopsis The book deals with the evolution of relations between India and the Russian Federation during the first decade after the disintegration of the Soviet Union in the context of the changed global configuration of powers in the Post-Cold War era as well as of the reduced stature of Russia, in view of the political and economic processes of transition it has to undergo during the decade. The study of Indo-Soviet relations serves as the background to analyze the factors of continuity and change in the new relationship. The book covers the economic and strategic aspects of the bilateral relationship as also focuses on the Central Asian region that has become the new meeting ground of common interests of both India and Russia.
