Synopsis The Muslims of Assam is a first book of its own kind written by Dr. K.A. Ahmed. This book incorporates eleven chapters highlighting different aspects of the cultural life of the Muslims of Assam including the historical and socio-economic aspects.

This book is an attempt to portray the socio-cultural life of the Muslims of Assam in the folk level beginning with their advent into Assam. While the study encompasses the whole of Assam it dealt more particularly with Western Assam. Again, emphasis has been given on the erstwhile Goalpara district for an intensive study.

This book aims at imparting an understanding and creating awareness among the people regarding the identity of the Assamese Muslims, wherein the peaceful co-existence, mutual understanding, communal harmony, assimilation, cohesion and integration are fairly manifested.
