Synopsis Mricchakatika has been and is even now one of the most enchanting dramas in the Sanskrit Literature. It is a brilliant torso of a play written by the great Dramatist Shudraka in the full maturitys of his powers. This play is full of spiritedness, humour and ebullience.

Mricchakatika- A critical and cultural study has been done taking into account the critical study of Dr. G.V. Devasthali and introduction to Mricchakatika by M. R. Kale, R.D. Karmarkar, Dr. R.S. Tripathi. The entire book is divided into eleven chapters which together presents a faithful critical and cultural study of this famous play. The critical study also encompasses a brief portrait of the dramatist Shudraka. The cultural study gives a brief description of philosophical, architectural, administrational, flora, fauna, jyotisha (astronomical) and other aspects of the play.
