Synopsis India is a multireligious, multiethnic, multicultural and multilingual country and is a best example of unity in diversity. Communal harmony is a necessary requisite for all-round development of the country.  India has had the legacy of communal harmony.  But recently some vested interests have come up inflaming religious fundamentalism.  Thus in the recent past we have come across many serious communal riots in different pasts of the country.  This book intends to demonstrate how folk media can prove instrumental in maintaining communal harmony.

Based on empirical study carried out in Gujarat, the findings of this book will prove informative to social scientists, policy – planners, administrators, social activists and NGOs.
