Synopsis This report presents the key findings of the study conducted on the indigenous knowledge in the respective countries. The project was taken up in two parts. Part I: The existing literatures on the subject in the respective countries were reviewed and analyzed to examine the tangible as well as intangible impacts of IK in terms of disaster risk reduction besides analyzing integration of IK for the development of policy framework with regards to Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR). Part II: Field surveys were conducted in an isolated community in these three countries to find out the genesis, structure and the dynamics of IK as it exists today to draw lessons for the future.
