Synopsis This book is an outcome of the conference Environmental Problems and Initiatives held at Indore. It has been divided into five sections. The first section deals with papers related to social concerns about the state of environment in general. The second section deals with dimensions of environment focusing on air, water, thermal and nuclear pollution and an impact analysis based on regions. The third section reviews technical and political responses emerging from social concerns about the environment. The fourth section deals with the state of environment of Indore in terms of air and water resources.
