Synopsis The book has been brought out with the sole purpose of providing an easy and a simple text book on Irrigation Engineering for the students of Diploma (civil engineering) courses. It fully covers their latest syllabus and also includes objective type question-answers. This book has been mainly edited and compiled by the second author from the major book entitled "Irrigation Engineering and Hydraulic Structures" written by the first author for degree and AMIE students. A few topics, such as, maintenance of canals, closure of their breaches, handy designs of earthen embankments, etc. have been written will prove useful to the diploma students, as well as to professional Junior Engineers (Section Officers), and will effectively serve its intended purposes.
