Synopsis This book is the outcome of a research study carried out by WSDC, University of Delhi. The alarming decline in child sex ratio in the northern states of North India has generated a lot of concern among activists, development practitioners and academicians. The centre devised an empirical study to make an assessment of attituditional difference towards the girl child in today's society. The study confirms a sutle bias towards the girls in our society but also reflects a change in mind set where girls are given opportunities to realise their potentials.
