India is one of the world’s richest countries in terms of its vast array of biological diversity. India has more than 47,000 species of plant life out of which around 15,000 are indigenous flowering plants. In India there are several communities which worship tree like the Mundas and Santhal worship Mahua (Bassia Latifolia) and Kadamba (Anthocaphalus Cadamba).
