Permanent access and storage of recorded knowledge resources have been the cornerstone of libraries for centuries. Libraries have prided themselves with having the privilege of being entrusted with permanent storage of the results of scholarship. Preserving the integrity of scholarship is one of the greatest challenges facing librarians and information professionals the world over today.
