There was a time when a Karbi forefather could speak in endless verses- the language he so fluently used to express his world-views, his religion, and to communicate with his exotic surrounding and his descendants. These memories of Karbi ancestors, as myths and metaphors continue to influence the ways the descendents imagine them selves.

The 'Karbi Studies' is conceived of as a series of books which would feature upcoming Karbi writers, activists, and researchers, and contribute to the understanding of the Karbi and their colorful world. The idea was to create and spread intellectual exercise amony young activists, and to develop awareness about their own cultural and historical back-grounds.
