The present monograph contains information about taxonomy and biology of all species reported from the Indian waters so far. Details regarding the biological characteristics and distribution will be of immense use for fishery resources assessment and fishery management. Identification of orgainsms to species level is also essential for understanding the biodiversity aspects and implementing conservation measures. The present work wascarried out at different geographical locations viz., Bombay, Karwar, Mangalore, Cochin, Vizhinjam, Tuticorin and Mandapam. An extensive review of the published work on carrangids along the India cost has also been done. The Monograph is divided into nine chapter, containing methodology, details of genera of carangids and a key to genera and description of individul species and bibliography.
