The study takes up the importance of extension teaching methods in education as well as in transfer of agricultural technology. It focuses on the teaching and learning experience, the extension teaching methods in use, individual contact methods, choice of appropriate teaching methods and the need to combine the extension teaching methods with respect to the field of agriculture in particular. Amply illustrated with a number of diagrams and pictures, it stresses the need for a good extension system that would improve the quality of extension contact by establishing repeated contacts with the clientele in an effort towards building confidence, communicating improved technologies and providing motivation for the adoption of these technologies. It also dispels many confusions with respect to extension teaching methods.
