This book attempts to make an in-depth study of the agricultural development in India, with special reference to the state of Tripura. Providing deep insight into the history of agriculture, covering the pre-historic, Neolithic, medieval and modern farming, it discusses at length the development of agriculture in India, with particular focus on five-year plans, pattern of outlay, agricultural production, causes of slow growth and the problem of low productivity.
