This book aims to address the issue of child labour in India, with special reference to Gulbarga district in Karnataka. Explaining the concept of child labour and the factors leading to it, it traces the evolution of the practice of child labour in the country.

Describing in detail the various forms of abuse of children—physical, emotional, sexual, it discusses at length the international instruments regulating child labour, a comparative analysis of child labour, in different countries, and judicial response to chills labour in India. The role of NGOs in rehabilitation of child labour has also been analyzed.
