This compendium of 20 papers attempts to analyze the different aspects of tribal theology, with special reference to North East India. Re-examining the development, contribution and the impact of tribal theology in the society during the last decades, it discusses the sources, methodology and hermeneutics of tribal theology, concept of god among the tribes, ecological crisis in the North East India, need of tribal theology, human rights discourse in the Naga culture, social analysis and its role in making of tribal theology.

Through a critical analysis of the contemporary social, economic and political changes, crisis and challenges which the tribal communities of North East India experience, it seeks to provide a theological version and the solutions to their problems.
